“April” is a well produced and very funny Mockumentary directed by Mike Piccirillo that will screen on opening night, November 1, 2011 at the Houston Comedy Film Festival at the Alamo Drafthouse West Oaks.

“Starting at a new high school can feel like the greatest challenge to a teenage girl. Popularity is social currency and not fitting in can feel like the end of the world. This revealing year-in-the-life Mockumentary follows April Poplewski’s high school experience through her eyes. Lumber in her shoes as she experiences all of the peer pressures, “in-­‐crowd” influences and struggles to be accepted in a high school that initially fears and denies her.”

“Deadbeat TV Volume 2” is a hilarious feature film released by Houston Director Steven Katz. The skits in this Sketch Comedy are hilarious and will be played throughout the HCFF 2011 program. This film has received the following nominations:
